Materials: Red Heart Kids yarn in 2 colors


Size I hook


Rnd 1-Ch 5, join to create ring, ch 3,2 dc, ch 2, (3 dc, ch 2) twice, 3 dc,
hdc in beg ch 3 to make last ch 2 sp.


Rnd 2- Ch 3, 2 dc in sm sp, ch 3, ( 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in next ch 2 sp, ch
3) 3 times, 3 dc in next ch 2 sp, hdc in beg ch 3 to make last ch 2 sp. Finish
off color A.


Rnd 3-join color Bwith a sl st in any ch 2 corner, ch 1, 3 sc in sm sp, sc
in next 3 dc, (working in front of ch 3  of previous rnd) trc in 3 unworked
dc of rnd 1, sc in next 3 dc,(3 sc in next ch 2 sp, sc in next 3 dc, trc
in 3 unworked dc of rnd 1, sc in next 3 dc) 3 times, join in beg sc.


Rnd 4- Sl st in next sc, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in sm st, dc in next sc, ch
3, 3 trc in sk ch 3 sp of rnd 2, ch 3, sk 3 scs, dc in next sc, (2 dc, ch
2, 2 dc in next sc, dc in next sc ch 3, 3 trc in sk ch 3 sp of rnd 2, ch
3, sk 3 sc, dc in next sc) 3 times, join in beg ch 3. Finish off.


Rnd 5-Join color A with a sl st in any ch 2 corner, ch 1,(3 sc in ch 2 sp,sc
in next 3 dc,<working in front of ch 3>, trc in 3 unworked sc of rnd
3, sc in next 3 trc, trc in next 3 sc, sc in last 3 dc) rep 3 times, join
in beg sc. Finish off


Rnd 6-Join color B in center sc of any 3 sc corner with  a sl st,Ch
3, 4 dc in sm sp dc in every st across <making sure to dc through the
3 trc and unworked ch 3 of previous rnd>, (5 dc in center sc of 3 sc corner,
dc in each st across,<making sure to dc through the 3 trc and unworked
ch 3 of previous rnd>,) rep around, join in beg ch 3. Finish off Color
B


Rnd 7- Join color A with a sl st in any center dc of corner, 3 sc in sm sp,
sc in each st around, placing 3 sc's in each corner, join in beg sc. Finish
off


Weave in all ends.

Congratulations! It's a "simple" granny square pattern, but it's so DIFFERENT! Changing the colors and using sc between the dc makes a VERY different design. I LOVE it!
